My Lounge London Heathrow Terminal 3 is a stylish but ultimately quite underwhelming airport lounge that struggles badly when it gets busy. The decor and retro style bar are attractive, the Wi-Fi works well, and the bathroom facilities are modern and clean, but the lounge is simply too small for the number of passengers using it on a Friday night.

The biggest weakness is the food, which felt basic, limited, and below the standard we would hope for at a major airport like Heathrow. While the fully tended bar and warm design help lift the experience a little, this is not a particularly relaxing lounge when it is crowded, and overall it feels more passable than impressive.

Location and access at My Lounge Heathrow Terminal 3

My Lounge Heathrow Terminal 3 is located air side after security. Follow signs towards ‘All Airline Lounges’, then continue towards gates 1 to 22. The lounge is signposted as Lounge D and is located on the right hand side.

The lounge is open daily from 5AM to 10PM.

Check-in experience

There was a queue at reception when we arrived, and it took around ten minutes to check in. That is not outrageous, but it does show how busy this lounge can get at peak times.

Staff were polite throughout and did a good job under pressure, especially given how crowded the lounge was during our visit.

Ambiance and seating

The lounge has a straight, narrow layout, with the bar positioned closer to reception and the food buffet running down the side of the lounge. It is not a huge space, and on a busy Friday evening it felt quite cramped for the number of people inside.

There are windows in part of the lounge, and although they are not floor to ceiling, they do let in enough natural light to stop the space feeling too enclosed. Seating is varied, with café style tables, comfortable armchairs, and some banquette seating, which gives you a few different options depending on whether you want to eat, drink, or just sit back.

That said, the sheer number of people in the lounge made the space feel cluttered and a little chaotic.

On the positive side, we did really like the decor. The lighting was warm, the retro style bar looked great, and the art on the brick wall added some character. Visually, the lounge is more appealing than the overall experience might suggest.

Food and drinks at My Lounge London Heathrow Terminal 3

The bar area is one of the better parts of the lounge. It is fully tended and serves the usual basic spirits, along with red, white, and rosé wine. There was also Heineken on draught, which was a nice touch and gave the drinks offering a bit more appeal.

Unfortunately, there was no Prosecco or Champagne included, as both came at an extra charge.

The food was the weakest part of the experience. Choice felt limited, with a hot soup option, tomato pasta, a curry, salads, fresh apples, cheese and crackers, and a pancake maker. While that might sound acceptable on paper, the hot food looked as though it had been sitting out for too long. It felt stodgy, low quality, and not especially appetising.

There were also a couple of self serve coffee machines, which were perfectly adequate, but overall the food offering was very disappointing and lacked both variety and freshness.

Wi-Fi and amenities at My Lounge London Heathrow Terminal 3

Wi-Fi was easy to connect to and worked well, which was definitely a plus.

The bathroom was clean and modern, and it felt well maintained despite how busy the lounge was. Staff were also working hard to clear plates and keep things tidy, which was appreciated.

There are no shower facilities here, which is a shame, and we did not notice any extra amenities such as a games room or other standout features. As a result, this is a fairly basic lounge in terms of facilities.

Final verdict: Is My Lounge London Heathrow Terminal 3 worth visiting?

My Lounge Heathrow Terminal 3 is a lounge with some clear strengths, but too many weaknesses to be more than average overall. The decor is appealing, the bar area is well done, Wi-Fi works properly, and it was nice to see a lager on tap rather than just bottled beer.

However, the lounge was simply too busy for its size during our visit, and that really hurt the experience. The cramped feel, cluttered seating, and lacklustre food made it much less relaxing than a lounge should be. While it is usable if you want a drink and somewhere to sit away from the terminal, it is not a lounge we would go out of our way to revisit.
