Emirates Economy Dubai to London Stansted is one of the more premium economy options on this route, and on this Boeing 777 flight I wanted to see if the extra cost is actually justified. In this review I cover seat comfort, legroom, food and drinks, the ICE entertainment system, service, and whether this flight is worth booking for 2026.
Booking and Value
Emirates Economy Dubai to London Stansted was the most expensive economy option on this route. in fact, Emirates Economy Class is rarely the cheapest option on long haul routes, particularly when connecting through Dubai. Economy fares on Emirates are typically around 10 to 20 percent more expensive than competitors, although between London and Dubai Emirates is in line with its main competitor, British Airways. You can read our British Airways economy flight review here.
That said, Emirates generally offers a more premium experience overall, and this flight largely delivered on that expectation. While you do pay a small premium, the onboard service, food presentation, and entertainment system help justify the tad higher air fare when travelling in economy class.

Boarding at Dubai International Airport
Boarding at Dubai International Airport was smooth and well organised, with clearly assigned group numbers being called at separate times. The flight departed exactly on schedule at 14:30 and arrived at London Stansted on time at 17:55, which is always appreciated on a long haul journey.
The afternoon departure time works well, allowing you to settle into the flight without an early morning start (if you’re starting in Dubai that is), and the early evening arrival into London makes for a civilised bedtime!

Seat Comfort and Cabin Experience Emirates Economy Dubai to London Stansted
The Emirates Boeing 777 economy cabin is laid out in a 3-4-3 configuration, with a total of 304 economy seats. Seat pitch ranges between 32 and 33 inches, which is generous for economy class and noticeably better than British Airways, which offers a 31-inch seat pitch on comparable long-haul services.
The seat itself was comfortable, and the adjustable headrest made a genuine difference when trying to sleep. A pillow and blanket were waiting at my seat on boarding, which added to the overall comfort.
No amenity kit was provided at each seat which is in line with BA’s economy class offering, although unlike Etihad who do offer their economy class passenger’s a basic kit.
One particularly impressive touch was the printed menu placed at every seat. This is extremely rare in economy class and immediately gives the flight a more premium feel. It also sets expectations clearly for both meal services, something almost all airlines fail to do in economy.

ICE Entertainment System
Emirates continues to lead the way when it comes to in-flight entertainment. The ICE system is excellent, with a sharp, high-quality screen and a vast selection of movies, TV shows, documentaries, and music.
The system was fast and responsive throughout the flight, and there was far more content than you could realistically get through in seven and a half hours. This remains one of Emirates’ strongest advantages over competitors, especially when comparing to the pretty poor entertainment system during my British Airways long haul economy review.

Food and Drinks Service Emirates Economy Dubai to London Stansted
The first drinks service on the Emirates Economy Dubai to London Stansted flight took place shortly after departure, followed by a full three course meal service. The presentation was excellent for economy class, helped further by the printed menu.
The starter was an orzo salad, followed by a chicken curry for the main course, and a chocolate brownie for dessert. All the courses were exceptionally tasty for an economy class meal.
Before, during, and after the main meal, the crew came through the cabin with drink services, with an extensive complimentary list of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks.
The second meal was served prior to landing and consisted of a cheese and egg sandwich, fresh fruit, and a yoghurt. For a relatively short flight at just over 7 hours, this second meal was substantial and a welcome break from the likes of BA who often provide a lattice or half a wrap for the second meal service.
If you are connecting through Dubai, we have also reviewed multiple Emirates menus on previous flights, including a recent Phuket to Dubai service, which I have added below for comparison.

Cleanliness and Facilities
On the Emirates Economy Dubai to London Stansted flight, the toilets were kept clean with regular checks by the cabin crew. While no additional amenities were provided in the bathrooms, everything felt well maintained and hygienic, which is all that really matters.
Service and Cabin Crew
The cabin crew were friendly, professional, and efficient throughout the flight. Service was proactive, with multiple drink rounds offered. The staff also did a decent job at keeping the bathrooms clean for this flight.
Final verdict: Emirates Economy Dubai to London Stansted
Emirates Economy Dubai to London Stansted on the Boeing 777 offered a very solid long-haul experience. Comfortable seating, generous legroom, excellent entertainment, high quality food, and the rare inclusion of printed menus help elevate the product above many competitors.
Although Emirates often charges a slight premium for its economy class product, this flight largely justified the extra cost. While the lack of an amenity kit is a tiny downside when comparing to Etihad, the overall experience was positive from start to finish.
