Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse SFO Date of Visit: October 2025 (Last Updated May 2026)
Time: Afternoon (2:00 PM to 4:00 PM)

Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse SFO is a premium airport lounge at San Francisco International Airport, located airside in Concourse A on Level 5. This Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse SFO review covers the location, access rules, Priority Pass entry, seating, bay views, cocktails, champagne, QR table service, hot food, Wi-Fi, showers and whether it is worth visiting before a long-haul flight.

During this afternoon visit, the lounge felt calm, stylish and relaxed, with friendly service, large windows, bay views and a proper cocktail bar. It is more compact than the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse Heathrow, but the combination of hot food, drinks, showers and Priority Pass access makes it one of the stronger lounge options at SFO.

Check-In Experience

The attendant at the entrance was warm and cheerful, creating a positive first impression. Check-in was smooth and quick, and within a few minutes we were seated with a drink in hand. QR codes are placed at each table for ordering food and drinks, which makes service quick and efficient.

Ambiance and Seating at the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse San Francisco

Unlike the larger Clubhouse at Heathrow, the San Francisco version feels more compact and elongated, with a modern bar on one side and large windows on the other. These windows provide relaxing views of the tarmac and San Francisco Bay, particularly beautiful at sunset.

The space was tranquil as the lounge was relatively empty, and the staff maintained a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere so there were no complaints with the ambiance here.

Food and Drinks at the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse San Francisco

The drinks selection was strong, consistent with Virgin Atlantic’s premium reputation. Guests can order champagne, wines, cocktails, and soft drinks. The bar staff were friendly and professional, serving our drinks promptly.

The food was simpler compared with the Heathrow Clubhouse. The menu featured a burger, Caesar salad, curry, salmon and several other options. The food was tasty and it was so nice to have so many hot meal options before a long flight.

Wi-Fi, Showers and Amenities

The Wi-Fi connection was strong and fast enough for streaming or catching up on work. Restrooms were clean but slightly dated in appearance. Shower facilities were also available, which is always useful before an overnight journey.

Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse SFO Pros And Cons

Pros

  • Friendly and professional staff who provided excellent service
  • Great drinks selection including Champagne and cocktails
  • Fast Wi-Fi and clean shower facilities
  • Lovely views of the tarmac and bay from the window seating area

Cons

  • Amenities are modest compared with the London Heathrow Clubhouse.

Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse SFO vs Heathrow Clubhouse

The Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse SFO is much smaller than the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse Heathrow, but it still offers several of the key Clubhouse features, including table service, cocktails, champagne, hot food, stylish seating and showers.

Heathrow feels more impressive overall, with a larger space, more seating zones and a stronger premium lounge atmosphere. However, the San Francisco Clubhouse is still a very useful lounge, especially because Priority Pass access makes it easier to visit without flying Upper Class.
