During this evening visit, we had to wait around 30 minutes after joining a virtual queue, but we received a text when our table was ready. This was not ideal at first, especially when arriving at the lounge expecting to go straight in. Location of the No1 Lounge Luton Airport

The No1 Lounge Luton Airport is located airside after security at London Luton Airport. Once you have passed through security and duty free, continue past the main restaurant area and head towards Gate 17. The lounge is close to this area and is well signposted.

The lounge is open daily from 4:00 AM until 8:00 PM, which covers a large proportion of Luton Airport departures.

Access and Check-In

The No1 Lounge Luton Airport can be accessed with Priority Pass, subject to capacity, or through paid access such as with a LoungePass booking. As this lounge can become busy, pre-booking is strongly recommended if you definitely want to use it before your flight.

We visited during a busy evening period, and the lounge was already at capacity when we arrived. Instead of being allowed straight in, we had to join a virtual queue.

The wait was around 30 minutes. The check-in staff were polite and explained the process clearly. We then received a text message when our table was ready, which meant we did not have to stand around the entrance the whole time.

Although a 30-minute wait is not what you want before a flight, the system made more sense once we got inside. Guests were shown to their designated seats, with the tables already cleaned, rather than left to search for tables themselves with empty plates and glasses from the previous guests.

Even with a booking, it is worth allowing some extra time during busy periods, as capacity controls may still lead to a wait.

First Impressions

The No1 Lounge Luton Airport is smaller than some other No1 lounges, and as such, does not have any notable amenties or any really impressive features.

The lounge had plants, a few paintings and light background music playing. These details helped soften the space and made it feel more relaxing than the main terminal.

However, the lounge is quite dark. There is only a small window with limited views, so there is not much natural light. If you prefer bright lounges with runway views, this is not one of the stronger options.

Seating and Comfort

Seating in the No1 Lounge Luton Airport is mostly made up of armchairs, with a larger sofa area in the corner. The lounge was busy during our visit, but it did not feel too crowded once we had been shown to our table.

The main downside was the table setup. The tables were quite small and low down, which made the lounge less suitable for working and eating. There was a small workstation with three high-stool seats, but these were already being used during our visit.

For relaxing before a flight, the seating was fine. For working on a laptop and eating, the lounge was a little less suitable.

Food at No1 Lounge Luton Airport

The food selection at the No1 Lounge Luton Airport was fairly average during this evening visit. There were some hot options and a few cold items, but the overall choice was pretty limited.

Hot food included beef stew, tomato pasta, Brussels sprouts and shredded Mediterranean chicken with peppers and onions. The Mediterranean chicken was the best dish we tried, as it was tender and had plenty of flavour.

There were also bread rolls, bread, cheese, salad and apples on display. For sweet options, there were shortbread pieces and blueberry muffins.

The food was acceptable, but it was not a particularly strong evening offering. The choice felt limited, and some of the options were a little unusual, especially the cold Brussels sprouts salad dish.

Staff were quick to replenish food and clear plates, which helped keep the buffet area tidy and functional.

Drinks and Bar

The bar was one of the stronger parts of the No1 Lounge Luton Airport experience. Although the bar area itself was quite small, it was well stocked.

Prosecco and rosé Prosecco were included, which was a nice touch. Most spirits were also included, and Birra Moretti was available on tap.

Champagne was available at an extra cost, priced at £12 per glass or £40 per bottle during this visit.

There was also a soft drink fountain, cucumber and mint spa water, as well as a water fountain at the bar for filling bottles.

Overall, the drinks selection was much stronger than the food selection. If you are visiting for a pre-flight drink, this lounge performs better than if you are visiting for a full meal.

Wi-Fi, Charging and Facilities

The Wi-Fi worked well during our visit, and there were plenty of charging ports around the lounge. This made it easy to charge a phone or laptop before the flight.

There was also a departure board inside the lounge, which was useful. A TV was showing the news, although it was not especially large.

The facilities were generally fine, but the toilets were disappointing. They were not especially clean during our visit, and one of the toilets had run out of toilet roll. When we let a staff member know, she simply nodded with a stern expression, as if this was too much to ask.

• Workstation seating was limited to three seats and the lounge did not offer any notable amenities
• One toilet had no toilet roll during our visit, with a staff member acting like this was a chore to fix.

Is The No1 Lounge Luton Airport Worth Visiting?

The No1 Lounge Luton Airport is a decent but mixed lounge. The 30-minute wait was frustrating, but the virtual queue system did help once we were inside. Rather than feeling packed or chaotic, the lounge felt controlled, seated and fairly comfortable.

The bar was the strongest part of the experience, with Prosecco, rosé Prosecco, most spirits, Birra Moretti on tap, soft drinks, and spa water.

However, the food selection was limited for a 6PM visit, the lounge was quite dark, the views were poor and the toilets needed more attention. This lounge is worth considering if you pre-book and want a calmer space before your flight, but it is not a lounge to rely on for a strong food offering.
