During this afternoon visit, the lounge felt polished and premium, with a standout cocktail bar, a strong self-serve buffet, Champagne, spotless showers, fast Wi-Fi and friendly staff. It is not the largest lounge at HKG, but it feels like a clear step above most contract lounges at Hong Kong Airport.

American Express Centurion Lounge Hong Kong Access Rules
The American Express Centurion lounge is available to eligible American Express cardmembers, including Platinum, Business Platinum, Corporate Platinum and Centurion cardholders. Eligible Delta SkyMiles Reserve and Delta SkyMiles Reserve Business American Express cardmembers can also access the lounge, subject to the relevant entry rules.

Check-in Experience
Check-in was easy and efficient. The lounge was fairly busy when we arrived, but we were checked in pretty quickly by the welcoming staff.
Ambiance And Seating at the American Express Centurion Lounge Hong Kong
This is not a huge lounge, but it is well designed and feels modern throughout. Seating is mostly made up of armchairs and café-style tables, which works well enough for both dining and unwinding before a flight.
The bar area is the real visual centrepiece and easily the most memorable part of the lounge. There are several high stools around the bar, which adds to the premium cocktail lounge feel and makes it feel more stylish than most airport lounges.
There are also some tarmac views, which are a nice bonus. As previously mentioned, the lounge is not particularly big, so I could imagine it feeling more cramped at peak times, but during our evening visit it was busy without becoming overwhelming.
Food and drinks at American Express Centurion Lounge Hong Kong
Food and drinks are the main reason to visit this lounge. The buffet is strong enough for a full meal, while the cocktail bar, Champagne and large spirits selection make the lounge feel more premium than most contract lounges at HKG.
Dinner was served in a self-serve buffet format, and the selection felt generous and varied. Options included leek and potato soup, dim sum, gnocchi in a tomato sauce, sole fillet, beef stew, salads, tiramisu, chocolate mousse, plus cookies and biscuits. There was more than enough choice for a full meal, and the overall quality was very good.
The drinks selection was even more impressive. The full cocktail menu made this feel closer to a premium bar than a standard airport lounge, and the bar itself had an enormous range of spirits available. I tried the ‘Tea-quila Highball’, made with lemon verbena tea, Blanco tequila, elderflower liqueur, and simple syrup. This was a delicious cocktail!
Champagne was also available, specifically Brut G.H. Mumm Cordon Rouge, which is a premium touch and instantly lifts the experience above the standard contract lounge offerings. Alongside that, there were several red, white, and rosé wines, as well as Prosecco, so the selection felt varied.
Overall, the food and beverage offering here is well above average and one of the strongest parts of the lounge.
Wi-Fi and Amenities
The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, which is exactly what you want when you have some emails to be catching up on!
Amenities are another strong point here. The bathrooms had a real luxury hotel feel, with premium hand wash and extras such as shaving kits available. Both the toilets and shower facilities were spotless, modern, and well maintained.
There are also magazines and newspapers available if you want something to read before your flight.
Another useful feature is the pair of conference rooms, each with space for around 10 to 12 guests. These do need to be booked in advance, but it is still a very useful amenity to have in an airport lounge.

The main drawback is the size. The lounge is not especially large, so it could feel crowded during busier periods. However, during this visit, it still felt premium and well managed.
Overall, this is a strong HKG lounge and one of the clearest examples of the value of holding an eligible Amex Platinum, Business Platinum, Corporate Platinum or Centurion card.
