Luxx Lounge Frankfurt Airport Location and Access Rules
The first thing to know is that the Luxx Lounge is located landside in Frankfurt Airport Terminal 1.
Therefore, if you are transiting through Frankfurt, you will need to leave the departures area to visit the lounge and then clear security again afterwards. Make sure that you leave enough time to pass through security and reach your departure gate. The lounge is located between Departure Halls B and C, close to the check-in areas. You need to go upstairs to Level 4.
The Luxx Lounge is open daily from 6:30 AM to 9:30 PM. Guests can stay for up to three hours.

Check-In Experience at the The Luxx Lounge Frankfurt Airport Terminal 1
Check-in was completed almost immediately, with the reception staff being smiley, polite and welcoming.
The lounge has a long and narrow layout. As you approach the reception desk, the section on the left is cordoned off for El Al business-class passengers. The main lounge section on the right is used by other guests, including Priority Pass members and passengers who have purchased one-off access.
Seating, Views and Atmosphere
The Luxx Lounge Frankfurt Airport is shaped in a long, straight line. Its narrow layout makes the space feel smaller and more cramped than it might otherwise be.
There was a mixture of comfortable leather armchairs and café-style tables and chairs. The decor felt pretty dated and tired overall if we are being honest here. However, the lounge was fairly busy during this 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM visit, meaning that most seats were occupied.
The self-serve buffet is positioned in the middle of the lounge. Guests have to walk through the buffet area to reach the seating section at the far end, which created a bottleneck. As a result, the buffet area was often pretty crowded.
The lounge was also extremely stuffy and warm during this visit, especially around the buffet area.
Large windows run along one side of the lounge. Although they are not quite floor-to-ceiling, they allow plenty of natural light into the space. However, there are sadly no runway or apron views as the windows instead overlook part of the terminal building.
The natural light was welcome, but the lounge otherwise lacked character and felt more like a busy waiting area rather than a premium airport lounge.
Food and Drinks at the Luxx Lounge Frankfurt Airport Terminal 1
As this was an 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM visit, we were able to see the end of the breakfast service and the beginning of the lunch offering.
Breakfast
The hot breakfast selection featured scrambled eggs and Frankfurter sausages.
Unfortunately, both were dry, cold and lacking in flavour. However, we visited at around 11:00 AM, so this was likely the end of the breakfast service.
The pancakes were much better. They were warm and fluffy, while the corn syrup made them one of the most enjoyable food options available during the visit.
Other breakfast items included:
- Bread
- Croissants
- Cereals
- Apples
- Bananas
There were also peanuts and tortilla crisps available.
Lunch
The lunch selection included chicken breast and potato gratin as the two hot options.
There was also a salad bar containing:
- Kidney beans
- Sweetcorn
- Green salad
- Tomatoes
- Salad dressing
The hot lunch selection was limited and was not particularly memorable. However, it was positive to see hot dishes available alongside several fresh and healthier options.
The fresh salad and fruit helped improve an otherwise underwhelming food offering.
Drinks
Drinks were provided in a completely self-serve format.
There was one coffee machine, although the Americanos we tried were rough and disappointing.
A refrigerator contained bottled soft drinks, including:
- Coke
- Coke Zero
- Fanta
- Sprite
Still mineral water, sparkling water, ice and lemon were also available.
The alcoholic drinks selection included:
- Bottled Bitburger lager
- Bitburger 0.0
- Prosecco
- Red wine
- White wine
- London dry gin
- Vodka
- Campari
- Bourbon whisky
Champagne was not available, but the inclusion of Prosecco was still better than the offering found at many contract lounges.
Overall, the drinks selection was respectable. There was enough variety across beer, wine, spirits and soft drinks, even though the coffee was disappointing.
Wi-Fi, Charging Ports and Facilities
The Wi-Fi worked well throughout the visit and no password was required.
There was also an abundance of charging ports, making it easy to charge a phone or laptop. Combined with the reliable Wi-Fi, this made the lounge a practical place to work, provided that you could find a seat.
There were only two toilet cubicles. They were reasonably clean and well maintained during the visit, although queues could develop when the lounge is busy.
Showers were available but cost extra.
There were no other notable amenities beyond the showers, toilets, Wi-Fi and charging ports.

The Luxx Lounge Frankfurt Airport provides the basics, but it is not a lounge that I would arrive especially early to visit.
The paid-entry price is relatively affordable and includes hot food, alcoholic drinks, Wi-Fi and plenty of charging ports. The salad, fruit and drinks selection were respectable, while the staff did an impressive job of keeping the lounge clean.
However, the lounge was hot, stuffy and cramped during this visit. The narrow layout causes congestion around the buffet, the hot food was disappointing and there are no runway or apron views.
Its landside location is another major consideration. Departing passengers must leave enough time to clear security after visiting, while connecting passengers will need to exit the departures area before returning airside.
The Luxx Lounge is suitable if you already have Priority Pass, need somewhere to work or can purchase access for £24 on LoungePair.com. However, it lacks the atmosphere, food quality and facilities required to feel like a premium experience.
