During this evening visit, the lounge was one of the most impressive contract lounges we have visited in Europe. The space felt large, calm and carefully designed, with several separate seating areas, quiet snug rooms, panoramic runway views, a large outdoor terrace, showers, attentive staff, strong food and a very polished coffee and bar setup. The only real drawback was that the hot food selection could have been slightly wider.

Check-In Experience
Check-in was smooth and straightforward during this evening visit. Staff were welcoming, and the lounge made a strong first impression thanks to its size, design and calm atmosphere.
This is not a cramped single-room airport lounge. The Marco Polo Club Lounge has several separate areas, which helps spread passengers out and keeps the space feeling relaxed even when the lounge is busy.
Seating and Atmosphere
The Marco Polo Club Lounge is much larger than it first appears, with three separate main areas and several snug rooms throughout the lounge. This layout helps the lounge maintain a calm and comfortable atmosphere.
The main section has café-style seating and floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows overlooking the runway. This area feels bright, open and ideal if you want to sit with food or a drink while watching the planes.
The dimly lit snug areas are another strong feature. These provide quieter spaces to sit, work or relax, with built-in sofas that feel far more comfortable than standard airport seating. They would also work well if you wanted to rest before a flight.
At the far end of the lounge, there is a jungle-themed seating area with more stylish café-style seating and plenty of greenery. This gives the lounge a distinctive feel and makes it stand out from many contract airport lounges.
The attention to detail is one of the lounge’s biggest strengths. The wallpaper, lighting, seating and furniture choices all feel carefully considered, creating a great space to relax before a flight.
Outdoor Terrace and Runway Views
The outdoor terrace is one of the best features of the Marco Polo Club Lounge. It is a large terrace with views across the runway and aircraft stands, making it a brilliant place for plane spotting before a flight.
This terrace is not a smoking area, which helps keep it pleasant for passengers who simply want some fresh air and to watch the planes take off. During this evening visit, it was one of the most memorable parts of the lounge.
Food at the Marco Polo Club Lounge Venice Airport
Food at the lounge was strong overall, especially for a contract lounge. The selection was fresh, well presented and regularly topped up by staff.
Hot and savoury options included mini lasagnes, tomato pasta, falafels, vegetable polpette, couscous salads, sandwiches, filled croissants and a selection of salads. The mini lasagne was particularly tasty and was one of the best items we tried during the visit.
The cold selection was also appealing. There was fresh fruit, salad, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and pre-made fruit salad pots with strawberries, melon, grapes, blueberries and pineapple. These fruit pots were a simple but thoughtful touch and made the buffet feel more varied and fresh.
There were also plenty of sweet treats, including blueberry muffins, chocolate muffins and chocolate brownies.
The only real limitation was that the hot food selection was not huge. What was available tasted very nice, but a slightly wider hot food range would have lifted the food score even further.
Barista Coffee, Bar and Drinks
The drinks setup was another major strength of the lounge. The standout feature was the enormous barista coffee machine, with a staff member making fresh coffee to order.
During this visit, we tried an espresso macchiato and a cappuccino. The cappuccino may have been at the wrong time of day for true Italians, but it was still a very enjoyable airport lounge coffee.
Alcoholic drinks were served by a bartender, which made the experience feel more refined than a self-serve setup. Drinks included wine, a selection of spirits, soft drinks and spritzes, including Aperol Spritz made in front of us.
Prosecco was available, although Champagne was not. There was also a selection of teas.
Overall, the combination of fresh barista coffee, staffed bar service, spritzes and Prosecco made the drinks offering one of the strongest parts of the lounge.
Workstations, Wi-Fi and Facilities
The Marco Polo lounge works well for both relaxing and working. There are workstations dotted around the lounge, including individual booths for focused work and bench-style working areas with plenty of plugs for laptops.
This makes the lounge useful if you need to catch up on work before your flight. The snug rooms also provide quieter spaces that work well for reading, emails or simply escaping the main terminal.
The toilets were beautifully designed and felt more refined than the facilities in many airport lounges. Showers are also available, which is a major plus if you are connecting, travelling long-haul or visiting after a long day in Venice.
Staff and Service
Service was very strong during this visit. Staff were attentive throughout, constantly clearing tables, cleaning the lounge and restocking the food.
The bar and coffee service were also fully handled by staff, which helped the lounge feel more polished. Having fresh coffee made to order and spritzes prepared in front of you added to the overall experience.

The Marco Polo Club Lounge Venice Airport is worth visiting if you have Priority Pass or paid lounge access. This is one of the stronger European contract lounges we have visited, thanks to its large layout, polished design, outdoor terrace, runway views, showers, fresh barista coffee and strong food selection.
The terrace and runway views are the main highlights, especially if you enjoy plane spotting. The snug rooms, jungle-themed seating area and attention to detail also make the lounge feel more memorable than many standard airport lounges.
Food and drinks were also strong, with tasty mini lasagne, salads, fruit pots, sweet treats, fresh coffee, Prosecco and Aperol Spritz. The only thing holding the lounge back slightly is that the hot food selection could have been more varied.
Overall, the Marco Polo lounge is an impressive space and one of the best options at Venice Airport.
