Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse San Francisco Date of Visit: October 2025 (Last Updated February 2026)
Time: Afternoon (2:00 PM to 4:00 PM)

The Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse San Francisco is one of the best lounges at SFO for a long haul departure, thanks to its bay views, proper cocktail bar with champagne, QR code table service and shower facilities. I visited in October 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM to review the seating and atmosphere, the food and drinks, WiFi and showers, and whether it is worth visiting if you have access through Upper Class, Delta One, elite status, or Priority Pass.

Location and access at the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse San Francisco

Located airside in Concourse A, the Clubhouse is easy to reach once you pass through security. Turn left and take the lift up to Level 5, where you will find the lounge tucked away above the main concourse. It is open daily from 4:30 AM to 11:30 PM and mainly serves Virgin Atlantic Upper Class passengers, Delta One travelers on international routes, and elite members with Flying Club Gold or SkyTeam Elite Plus status when flying with Virgin Atlantic or Delta.

I had access with my Upper Class ticket back to London Heathrow. Priority Pass members can now also use this lounge, which is a very welcome addition considering its quality.

We had access to the Virgin Clubhouse with an Upper Class ticket. You find can read our full Virgin Atlantic Upper Class flight review here.

Check-In Experience

The attendant at the entrance was warm and cheerful, creating a positive first impression. Check in was smooth and quick, and within a few minutes I was seated with a drink in hand. QR codes are placed at each table for ordering food and drinks, which makes service quick and efficient.

We had access to the very impressive Virgin Clubhouse at London Heathrow on our outbound trip with an Upper Class ticket. You can find our full lounge review here.

Ambiance and Seating

Unlike the larger Clubhouse at Heathrow, the San Francisco version feels more compact and elongated, with a modern bar on one side and large windows on the other. These windows provide relaxing views of the tarmac and San Francisco Bay, particularly beautiful at sunset.

The space was tranquil as the lounge was relatively empty, and the staff maintained a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere so there was no complaints with the ambiance here.

Food and Drinks at the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse San Francisco

The drink options were excellent, consistent with Virgin Atlantic’s premium reputation. Guests can order champagne, wines, cocktails, and soft drinks. The bar staff were friendly and professional, serving our drinks promptly.

The food was simpler compared with the Heathrow Clubhouse. The menu featured a burger, Caesar salad, Curry, Salmon and several other options. The food was tasty and it was so nice to have so many hot meal options before a long flight.

Wi Fi, Showers and Amenities

The Wi-Fi connection was strong and fast enough for streaming or catching up on work. Restrooms were clean but slightly dated in appearance. Shower facilities were also available, which is always useful before an overnight journey.

Pros and cons

Pros:

• Friendly and professional staff who provided excellent service
• Great drinks selection including champagne and cocktails
• Fast Wi Fi and clean shower facilities
• Lovely views of the tarmac and bay from the window seating area

Cons:

• Amenities are modest compared with the Heathrow Clubhouse. You can find our full Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse Heathrow lounge review here.
