Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse Heathrow Terminal 3 Date of Visit: September 2025 (Last updated February 2026)
Time:
Morning (8:00 AM – 11:00 AM)

Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse Heathrow Terminal 3 is one of the most talked about Upper Class lounges in London. I visited in September 2025 to test the table service dining, cocktails and Champagne, runway views and terrace, showers, and the different seating zones, and to see how it stacks up now compared with the pre-covid version.

Location and Access Options

The Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse Heathrow Terminal 3 is located in the Lounge H area near gates 13 to 22. At over 25,000 square feet, it is one of the most expansive and luxurious business class lounges in the world.

Access is granted to Upper Class passengers, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club Gold members, Singapore Airlines Solitaire PPS Club, PPS Club, and KrisFlyer Gold members, as well as SkyTeam Elite Plus, Delta One passengers, and Air New Zealand Elite or Gold members flying Virgin Atlantic.

While the lounge is still among the most premium options at Heathrow, it is worth noting that it is not quite what it once was before COVID, with the airline scaling back on some unique features such as the jacuzzi, hair salon, and massages. Nevertheless, it remains in a league above the BA business class lounges in Terminal 5.

Check-In Experience

Check-in was seamless. Staff at reception were welcoming, professional, and made entry into the lounge quick and efficient upon presenting my boarding pass.

Ambiance and Seating at the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse Heathrow Terminal 3

The first impression is how huge and beautifully designed this lounge is. The decor feels clean, modern, and stylish, with different seating zones each offering a distinct vibe. This made the BA business class lounges at Heathrow look a bit sad if I’m being honest!

Highlights included:

  • The 46-foot-long central bar, where guests can order cocktails and champagne
  • Comfortable armchairs, large egg chairs, and stylish swing chairs that added a contemporary flair
  • A spacious TV and media area with mood lighting
  • Pool cabana-style seating that gave the space a resort-like feel
  • An outdoor terrace with excellent runway views
  • A games room with a pool table and even a wellness room with Peloton bikes overlooking the tarmac

Panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows brought in plenty of natural light and offered excellent views of the aircraft. The abundance of greenery and plants also made the lounge feel fresh and inviting. Comfort was never an issue with the sheer variety of seating options available.

Food and Drinks at the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse Heathrow Terminal 3

Virgin Atlantic does things differently, and in this case, in the best way possible.

  • Table Service via QR Code: Every table had a QR code for ordering food and drinks, making the experience seamless. Staff brought everything directly to us
  • Breakfast Menu Options: Guests could order almost anything, from a Full English breakfast to eggs benedict, eggs royale, and lighter options such as yogurt and fruit
  • Buffet Selection: Mainly cold items such as fresh fruit, cold cuts, and salads for those who preferred a quick grab-and-go option
  • Bar Menu: This was extensive, with the option to order champagne, cocktails, wine, or soft drinks. Morning champagne and freshly made cocktails were freely available

The food was freshly prepared, well-presented, and genuinely restaurant quality.

Wi-Fi and Amenities

The Wi-Fi was strong and reliable throughout the lounge. There were plenty of shower facilities, which were modern and spotless, ensuring travelers could freshen up before a long-haul flight.

While it was a shame that unique pre-COVID amenities like the jacuzzi and hair salon are gone, the range of seating, wellness areas, games, and overall atmosphere still places the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse among the world’s most impressive business class lounges.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Enormous lounge with stylish, modern design
  • Excellent seating variety with unique touches like pool cabanas, swing chairs, and Peloton bikes
  • Floor-to-ceiling windows with great runway views and natural light
  • Restaurant-style dining with full breakfast menu delivered to your table
  • Attentive staff and an extensive drinks menu
  • Multiple showers available, kept clean and modern

Cons:

  • Loss of unique amenities such as the jacuzzi, salon, and massages, which once set the lounge well apart from any of its competitors in pre-COVID times.

Final Verdict: Is the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse Heathrow Terminal 3 Worth Visiting?

The Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse Heathrow Terminal 3 remains one of the most premium lounges in the world, offering a luxurious and unique pre-flight experience. Despite cutbacks on some standout amenities, the combination of excellent food, chic design, and outstanding seating areas ensures it is still a world-class lounge and far ahead of most competitors, especially BA’s lounges at Terminal 5.
