The Vienna Lounge at Vienna Airport Terminal 1 (VIE) offers travellers a spacious, stylish, and relaxing retreat before their flights. This Vienna lounge at Vienna Airport is a standout among Priority Pass lounges, known for its impressive food, extensive drink selection, and unique amenities. Vienna Lounge is a standout addition to Vienna Airport’s Terminal 1, located airside directly after duty free in the C gate area. Access is available to Priority Pass members or a cash entry fee of a whopping €57 (kids can enter for half price).
Check-In Experience
Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed by a friendly and professional receptionist. The check-in process was seamless, and my Priority Pass membership was quickly scanned with no issues.
Ambiance and Seating at The Vienna Lounge Vienna Airport
The Vienna Lounge is huge at over 2500 square metres in space. It is thoughtfully designed, featuring a perfect blend of contemporary style with Austrian influences. The enormous floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows provided plentiful natural light. The space is divided into multiple zones, offering something for every type of traveller. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful retreat in the quiet area, a social setting in the dining zone, or a place to fully relax on the day beds, this lounge has it all.
A particularly impressive feature is the large terrace, which provides an amazing area for plane spotting while enjoying a drink. The seating is incredibly comfortable, with plenty of options ranging from plush armchairs to cozy day beds. There’s even a dedicated kids zone, making it a fantastic choice for families. Whilst I was here, the lounge wasn’t too busy, making this a quiet space to unwind before your flight. To be honest, I think it would be difficult for this lounge to ever be too busy as the sheer size can absorb so many people.

Food and Drink Offerings at Vienna Lounge Vienna Airport Terminal 1
The food and beverage selection here is top-tier, and by far one of the best lounge offerings I’ve ever had on the Priority Pass network. The lounge offers a fantastic variety of Austrian and international dishes.
- Hot Dishes: The absolute standout was the beef goulash, which was hands-down the best I’ve ever had. I didn’t think I could get that excited over a goulash, but here we are! The beef was incredibly tender, melting in the mouth, and the sauce was rich, deep, and packed with flavour. Other options included Wiener schnitzel, creamy mushroom pasta, and a chicken curry, all of which were tasty.
- Cold Selection: A wide variety of fresh salads, sandwiches, and high-quality Austrian charcuterie. The local cheese selection was particularly noteworthy and paired beautifully with the red wines on offer.
- Desserts: Traditional Austrian treats such as sachertorte and apple strudel were available, providing a sweet finish to the meal. There were all sorts of cakes, so many in fact that it felt like I was at a bakery!
- Drinks: The lounge offers an extensive selection of premium spirits and Austrian wines, complete with a menu detailing each option. The variety and quality were impressive, making it easy to find the perfect pairing for any dish. My pre-takeoff tipple test was Zipfer Urtyp lager, which scored very highly.
- Tea Selection: One of the most remarkable aspects of the lounge was the dedicated tea station, featuring over 10 varieties of high-quality teas, each with a detailed description of its origins and flavours. Tea lovers will be in heaven here!

Wi-Fi & Amenities
The Wi-Fi was exceptionally fast and reliable, making it easy to stream, browse, or get work done. Power outlets and USB charging stations were conveniently located throughout the lounge. The restrooms were pristine and stocked with toiletries, and showers were available upon request I believe. There was a nice bunch of flowers next to the sink for an added luxury feel. There was also a selection of digital newspapers and magazines for those preferring to read hard copies.
Pros:
- Massive lounge space with plenty of seating and day beds.
- Incredible beef goulash and lots of other hot food options.
- Large terrace with fantastic plane-spotting opportunities.
- Extensive selection of premium spirits and Austrian wines.
- Impressive tea station with over 10 varieties and detailed explanations.
- Fast and stable Wi-Fi with plenty of charging stations.
Final Thoughts on Vienna Lounge Vienna Airport Terminal 1
The Vienna Lounge in Terminal 1 is an absolute gem and one of the best airport lounges I’ve experienced. Probably the best so far on the Priority Pass network, and certainly up there at the higher end business class lounges. The combination of a massive, stylish space, top-quality food and drinks, and unique features like the tea station and outdoor terrace make it a fantastic place to relax before a flight. This is a bargain for the £24 entry fee on the Priority Pass card, however if I wasn’t a member, I’d even consider purchasing a €57 pass if necessary!
