Pearl Lounge Abu Dhabi Terminal A is a contract lounge in the new Terminal A at Abu Dhabi, available via Priority Pass or paid entry. I visited in November 2025 in the morning and found a strong breakfast buffet, a proper staffed bar, clean showers, and plenty of seating, even when busy.
The key thing to know is access. Priority Pass guests are limited to the main lounge area, while the more impressive open section is reserved for business and first class unless you pay an upgrade. This review explains exactly what you get, where it is, and whether it is worth using a lounge visit or paying cash.
Location and Access at the Pearl Lounge Abu Dhabi Terminal A
The Pearl Lounge Abu Dhabi is located in the brand-new Terminal A, which is also home to Etihad Airways and British Airways. The lounge sits airside, after clearing Security Checks, on Level 1 near Gate D43. It is open 24 hours a day, making it ideal for layovers and long-haul stopovers. Entry is capped at three hours per visit, and infants can enter free of charge.

Seating and Atmosphere
An important thing to mention with access is that Priority Pass holders cannot access the entire lounge. Some photos show the premium business and first class area, but Priority Pass entry is for the main lounge space unless you pay a $39 upgrade.
Despite Terminal A being one of the most impressive airport terminals I have ever seen, with its enormous ceilings and open design, the Pearl Lounge Abu Dhabi feels unexpectedly cramped by comparison. The ceilings are surprisingly low, and the layout makes use of narrow corridors that detract from what could have been a more spacious feel.
That said, the lounge itself is quite large, offering a good range of seating spread across two main sections. There were quiet areas, bar seating, and plenty of minimalist chairs and armchairs. On my visit, the lounge was very busy, although the large space helped absorb the number of guests.
We were not allowed in the more open and spacious business class area, as we had accessed the lounge through Priority Pass.

Food and Drink at the Pearl Lounge Abu Dhabi
Breakfast was being served during my visit, and the spread was far better than I had anticipated. Hot options included pancakes, scrambled eggs, chicken sausages, baked beans, and roasted potatoes. There was also a curry, noodles and stir-fried vegetables. Everything I tried was fresh and tasty, and the variety meant you could easily fill up before a flight.
Cold options were equally solid, with cereals, yogurts, fresh fruit, muffins, and an extensive salad bar that went beyond what most contract lounges offer. All food was self-serve.
There is one large bar at the rear of the lounge which was staffed by a dedicated barman, serving house wines, beers, and a wide selection of spirits. Champagne and sparkling wine was not on offer here sadly. I especially liked the bar stools at the Pearl lounge, although these were fully occupied during my visit.
In addition, there is a second bar set in a striking grand circular hall, which you reach by walking through a somewhat oddly placed fire door. However, I found out that this was for first and business class passengers only.

Showers, WiFi and Amenities
The Pearl Lounge Abu Dhabi is well-equipped for longer stays which is particularly useful considering the vast number of Etihad layover passengers that pass-through Abu Dhabi airport. There are large comfy recliner chairs which I saw several passengers use as day beds, so this would be very useful during a layover. Complimentary showers are available and were spotless during my visit. The lounge also offers a prayer room and a smoking room.
Wi-Fi was free and worked well. Charging ports were unfortunately only available in certain seating areas.

Final verdict: Is the Pearl Lounge Abu Dhabi Terminal A worth it?
The Pearl Lounge Abu Dhabi is a pretty solid contract lounge with a well-stocked bar, a varied food selection and spotless facilities. The notable drawbacks are its oddly constrained design compared to the vastness of the terminal itself, the limited access for no business/first class passengers and the absence of natural light/tarmac views. Overall it is not a bad spot to spend a couple of hours in, particularly during a layover.
