BER Lounge Tegel Review Date of Visit: September 2025 (last updated February 2026)
Time: Evening (7:00 PM – 8:30 PM)
BER Lounge Tegel at Berlin Brandenburg Airport Terminal 1 is a contract lounge in the Schengen departures area and it is accessible with Priority Pass, subject to capacity. I visited in September 2025 during an evening peak period and found reliable WiFi, good pretzels and a surprisingly strong self serve drinks selection, but the space felt crowded with limited dining tables and no real runway views. This review covers where to find it, what is included, and whether it is worth using a lounge visit.
Location and access at BER Lounge Tegel Berlin Brandenburg Terminal 1
The BER Lounge Tegel is located airside in Terminal 1 at Berlin Brandenburg International Airport. You will find it in the Schengen Departures area, Level E1, opposite Gate B17. The lounge can also be reached from Terminal 2. Keep in mind that if your flight departs from a Non-Schengen gate (B, C, or D), you will need to pass through Passport Control again, so leave enough time to return. You can enter the BER Lounge Tegel by purchasing a Priority Pass lounge membership here (up to 20% off through this link).
Opening hours are from 05:00 to 21:00 daily, although access may be restricted if the lounge reaches capacity. Entry is permitted up to three and a half hours before your scheduled flight.

Check-In Experience at the BER Lounge Tegel
Entry was straightforward and quick. The receptionist handled the process efficiently without any fuss.
Seating and atmosphere
During our BER Lounge Tegel Review, we found the space to be pretty packed. There were a lot of banquette-style seating, which meant there were a lack of tables for guests to eat at. I’d say the atmosphere resembled a busy café or crowded restaurant rather than a quiet VIP airport lounge. If you plan to eat a proper meal, try to arrive early, as tables fill up quickly. There were floor-to-ceiling windows, although the view was over airport buildings and not the runway.

Food and Drinks at the BER Lounge Tegel
• Hot items: Two hot buffet dishes were available, a butter chicken curry and a vegetable curry. These choices were basic but filling.
• Cold items: A selection of cold meats alongside a small bakery section. The fresh pretzels were a real highlight.
• Snacks and sweets: A pick ‘n’ mix section with nuts, crisps, and traditional candy in jars, plus chocolate brownies and a tasty marble cake.
• Drinks: Now this was a strong point for the lounge! There was a standard coffee machine and tea selection, plus soft drinks including Coke, Coke Zero, Fanta, juices, and a fridge stocked with beers and non-alcoholic beers, some served in glass bottles. There was a beer tap, although it was sadly out of service during my visit. The self-serve spirits were particularly impressive for a contract lounge, featuring Grey Goose vodka, Bombay Sapphire gin, and a very German touch: Jägermeister!

Wi-Fi and Amenities
The Wi-Fi connection worked well and was stable throughout the visit. The restrooms were also clean. Showers and conference facilities are available for an extra charge and typically need to be arranged in advance.
Pros and cons
Pros:
- Excellent premium spirit selection.
- Great fresh pretzels and tasty curry.
- Reliable Wi-Fi.
Cons:
- Too crowded, with little sense of comfort.
- Lack of tarmac views.
Final Thoughts On The BER Lounge Tegel
The BER Lounge Tegel was better than expected for a contract lounge. It was busy during my visit, but the drinks selection stood out with premium spirits, beers, and soft drinks. The hot food was limited yet tasty, and the fresh pretzels plus sweet treats were a nice touch. Wi-Fi was reliable and facilities were clean. If you have complimentary access through a program like Priority Pass, it is worth a visit.
