The Pearl Lounge Marrakesh Review (Evening Visit)
The Pearl Lounge Marrakesh Airport Date of Visit: [January 2025]
Time: Evening (6:00 PM – 8:00 PM)
Location and Access Options at The Pearl Lounge Marrakesh Airport
The Pearl Lounge Marrakesh Airport (RAK) is the main lounge available for travellers departing Menara Airport. In this review, I cover everything you need to know about lounge access, food, drinks, and amenities during my evening visit.
The lounge is located after security and open daily from 6am to 10pm. Keep in mind you should arrive at least three hours before your flight to have enough time to visit. Menara Airport’s security system is notably disorganised and overcrowded, with long queues just to get into the terminal. They do not accept digital boarding passes, so travellers with hand luggage must queue at check-in to print boarding passes. The security process is chaotic, including multiple checks and passport control. You can access the Pearl Lounge with Priority Pass or DragonPass, but if you don’t have membership, you’ll have to pay a $35 USD entry fee, which may feel steep given the overall experience.
Check-In Experience
Check-in went smoothly and the polite receptionist happily assisted me. After checking in the receptionist operated barriers similar to metro ticket gates to grant access to the lounge.
Pearl Lounge Marrakesh Review: What to Expect Inside
The decor at the Pearl Lounge was modern yet had a subtle Moroccan charm. The palm trees were an excellent touch, giving the space a real tropical feel, all be it right before we were flying back to London’s grey skies! Seating options were plentiful, with a mix of armchairs, communal tables, and quiet booths with TVs (which weren’t working) but provided a decent level of privacy. The feel at the Pearl Lounge Marrakesh Airport was similar to the Pearl Lounge at Sharm El Sheikh airport. You can find this review here.
Large windows should have offered stunning views of the tarmac, however I found myself staring through little pigeon holes as there was a patterned wooden blind covering up most of the view. There was also an indoor smoking room, but was not used at all for the 2 hours that I spent in the Pearl Lounge.

Food & Drink at The Pearl Lounge Marrakesh Airport
The food selection disappointed me, especially during an evening visit when I expected more substantial options.
- Hot items in large covered containers included overcooked cold chicken in a creamy sauce and cold Mediterranean vegetables that looked like they had been left out for days.
- Cold items: A sparse selection of stale sandwiches and unappetizing salads. As these sandwiches were behind the counter, you would have to queue for a man to serve these to you. He was frequently not behind the counter, so there were occasions where the queue would stack up with irritated travellers.
- Drinks: Again to access any drinks, you would have to queue to be served by the illusive man behind the counter, even for water! Coca Cola, Sprite and Coke Zero were offered. The machine coffee was bang average, and please note that this lounge does NOT SERVE alcohol. The pre-takeoff tipple test unfortunately had to be a latte, which I don’t think you can quite call a tipple!

Wi-Fi & Amenities at The Pearl Lounge Marrakesh Airport
The Wi-Fi worked reliably and quickly which is a real advantage if you need to get some work done especially since the normal airport Wi-Fi was unusable. Power outlets were dotted around the lounge however I had to try 5 outlets until one actually worked. When I asked the staff if any of the charging ports worked, I was told that none of them work.
The toilets within the lounge were filthy, and the bin had clearly not been emptied all day, as used paper towels were piled up and scattered on the floor. It was also strange to have a (I think stray) cat sat in the lounge. Not sure this was a therapy cat as an added amenity but thought I’d take a photo anyway as it was quite cute!

Pros:
- The seating was comfy and the WiFi was excellent, so if you need reliable connectivity to get some work done, then the lounge might be worth a visit.
Cons:
- Subpar food options and no alcohol available!
- Hindered view of the tarmac, which covered the gorgeous Moroccan sunset on my evening visit.
- Dirty restrooms and unreliable charging ports.
Final Thoughts
The Pearl Lounge Marrakesh Airport offers little value for money, with disappointing food, no alcohol, and limited functionality. If you don’t have unlimited lounge passes, I would not waste a visit here. At $35 for entry, it’s difficult to justify a visit when you could just purchase similar or better food in the main terminal. This lounge experience reminded me of the Pearl Lounge at Sharm El Sheikh airport, which you can check out here.
