Sala Joan Olivert Lounge, Valencia Airport (Evening Visit)

Sala Joan Olivert Lounge Date of Visit: [February 2025]

Time: Evening (7:00 PM – 9:00 PM)

Location and Access Options

The Sala Joan Olivert Lounge at Valencia Airport was our final stop after a fantastic weekend away in Valencia on a budget the details of which can be found here. The Sala Joan Olivert Lounge is located airside in Valencia Airport As you pass security, turn right towards gate 12, where the lounge is opposite. The lounge is open from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM daily and is accessible via Priority Pass, DragonPass, or a pay-at-the-door option for €44 per person.

Checking Into the Sala Joan Olivert Lounge

The check-in process was quick and efficient. The receptionist was friendly and welcomed guests with a smile. There was no queue, and access was granted in under a minute upon presenting my Priority Pass.

Ambiance and Seating

Spread across 2 floors, this large lounge is well-designed with a mix of seating options, including cushioned armchairs, small café-style tables, and lots of recliners for those wanting a nap. There were no direct runway views, and so the lounge lacked natural light. The decor was modern and there were lots of plants dotted around which was a nice touch.

There was a dedicated business area on the top floor with large conference tables and power outlets, ideal for those wanting to get some last minute work done. There was also a newspaper stand next to reception, which although unlikely to be well used these days, made for a nice aesthetic addition. The lounge wasn’t overly crowded, making for a relaxing experience before the flight.

Food & Drink at the Sala Joan Olivert Lounge

The evening food selection was delightful, offering a variety of tasty dishes to suit all tastes:

  • Hot items: The selection included a delicious pork in tomato sauce dish, tender and flavourful, as well as a savoury chicken in mustard sauce, which was also delicious. There was also a rich, comforting lasagna that was genuinely as good as I’ve had in Italy! In addition, a couple of hot tapas dishes, including the classic Spanish omelette (tortilla) were also available.
  • Cold items: The cold offerings were also well-curated, with a selection of freshly made sandwiches as well as an impressive tapas spread. This included Spanish salamis, Iberian ham and cheeses.
  • Drinks: The self-serve bar featured several excellent Spanish red and white wine options, perfect for pairing with the cured meats! Cavas were also out, as well as the usual vodka, gin and rum. Pre-mixed mojito cocktails were also on offer, which was an impressive touch. There was also a selection of refreshing glass-bottled water and a variety of glass bottled soft drinks to choose from. The coffee machine served up a solid cappuccino, making it an ideal way to end the evening.

Wi-Fi & Amenities

The Wi-Fi was strong and reliable, making it easy to browse or catch up on emails. Power outlets were actually sparse on the ground floor, meaning you would have to go to the top floor to charge your phone which was a minor inconvenience. However, upstairs there was an excellent work space area with a conference-style table. The bathrooms were sleek, clean and well-maintained, giving a luxury feel.

Pros:
• Comfortable seating with a mix of recliners and armchairs, perfect for relaxation or work.
• Excellent food and drink options, including delicious hot dishes, tapas, Spanish wines, pre-mixed cocktails, and bottled soft drinks.
• Fast and reliable Wi-Fi, plenty of charging stations.
• Sleek, clean and well-maintained bathrooms.

Cons:
• Power outlets were sparse around the lounge, particularly on the ground floor. It was a minor inconvenience to have to go to the work area on the top floor to charge devices.

•The lounge runway views were limited, as there no windows on the ground floor and limited views on the top floor.

Final Verdict – Is the Sala Joan Olivert Lounge Worth Visiting?

The Sala Joan Olivert Lounge at Valencia Airport provides a pleasant space to unwind before a flight. It’s quiet, comfortable, and offers a decent food and drink selection, making it a firm choice for an evening visit. While charging ports and runway views were limited, it’s still a good spot to relax before departure, especially if you appreciate a well-stocked bar.
