My Lounge Gatwick South Terminal Date of Visit: April 2025 (Last updated February 2026)

Time: Morning (4:00 AM – 5:30 AM)

My Lounge Gatwick South Terminal is a relaxed, café style contract lounge at London Gatwick, best known for its outdoor terrace, runway views and self pour drinks. In this morning visit review, I cover what breakfast is like, how the DIY drinks setup works, seating and terrace atmosphere, Wi-Fi and power sockets, plus whether it is worth paying for or using a lounge visit.

Check-In Experience

Our flight was at a painfully early 6:10am, so we arrived at bang on 4am. Unfortunately, we had to wait outside until 4:10am where around 10 of us were waiting, until finally the apologetic and polite receptionist finally opened the doors.

Seating and Terrace at My Lounge Gatwick South Terminal

The first thing to note is that the lounge is much smaller than the No.1 Traveller Lounge at Gatwick South, which is also available to Priority Pass members. However, the lounge was very peaceful at this time in the morning and had a relaxed, café-style ambiance with a mix of seating options. For instance, there were comfy armchairs, communal tables, and even an outdoor seating area, which is apparently the only outdoor space past security at Gatwick. Additionally, large floor-to-ceiling windows overlooked the apron, which was great for plane nerds like myself. Moreover, there was a small kids’ and games room, although this was not in use when we were there.

Breakfast and Drinks at My Lounge Gatwick South Terminal

Breakfast options were reasonable, with a buffet offering:

  • Hot items: Scrambled eggs, McMuffin style sausage patties, baked beans, hash browns and pancakes.
  • Cold items: Cereals, yogurts, pastries, and fresh fruit. DIY touches: A make-your-own loaded Nachos section with a melted cheese machine was a fun addition for travellers, all be it not well used for breakfast.
  • For drinks, there were self-serve coffee machines, a selection of teas, juices, and fruit infused waters (one cucumber and mint and the other lemon infused). The Americano I had from the coffee machine was tasty and definitely hit the spot! Disappointingly, Prosecco and Champagne were extra, at £14 and £28 a bottle, respectively. Interestingly to note, the lounge offers self-serve spirits and ‘pour your own pints’. I was very impressed with this rarity, especially since most contract lounges in the UK require you to stand in line with 20 or more people if you want a pre-takeoff tipple. In contrast, here you could help yourself. A couple of reds, whites, and a rosé were available; however, I stayed away from those and instead made my own Bloody Mary for my Pre-Takeoff Tipple Test.

Wi-Fi and Amenities

The My Lounge at Gatwick South Terminal provides free Wi-Fi, which was fast and reliable. Power outlets are widely available, catering to those needing to charge devices or work on laptops. The toilets were perfectly clean, which you’d expect as the lounge had just opened.

LoungePass  No membership needed. Pre-book the My Lounge for £40 per person. After clicking, search for the airport to check availability and book your lounge spot.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Armchairs were comfy, and the hot breakfast food options were plentiful.
  • Self-serve alcohol, with a Bloody Mary making stand and a ‘pour your own pint’ station.
  • Outdoor seating and smoking area with apron views.

Cons:

  • Smaller lounge than the No.1 so this may fill up quicker in peak hours.
  • Staff opened the lounge 10 minutes late, although this was a minor point, and they were very polite overall.

Final Verdict: Is The My Lounge at Gatwick South Terminal Worth Visiting?

My Lounge at Gatwick South Terminal is an excellent choice for travellers looking for runway views (both inside and outside), as well as quirky DIY food and alcohol options. Moreover, this lounge would definitely be worth using a lounge pass in my view. In particular, if you enjoy a couple of pre-takeoff tipples, then those paying the £40 entry with a lounge card could easily get their money’s worth thanks to the self-pour alcohol options! For a contract lounge, this is definitely one of the better ones that I have been to in the UK.
