During this afternoon visit, the lounge was extremely busy. There was a short queue at reception, the seating area was crowded, and it was difficult to find a clean space to photograph without passengers in shot. This level of crowding makes sense, as the ANA Lounge is the main contract lounge at Lisbon Airport and can be used by both Schengen and non-Schengen passengers.
Overall, the ANA Lounge Lisbon Airport is a useful but underwhelming lounge. The natural light, apron views, Wi-Fi, charging points and clean-up service were positives, and it was still better than waiting in the crowded Terminal 1 departures area. However, the food and drinks were forgettable, the lounge felt chaotic, and the lack of hot food was a clear drawback.

There is a maximum stay of three hours, and children under the age of two are admitted free of charge.
We visited between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM. There was a queue of around five people at reception when we arrived. The staff were polite, but the overall check-in and lounge experience felt busy and slightly chaotic from the start.
The lounge was already very crowded once we entered, and it was difficult to find a seat. If you are planning to use this lounge before a flight, it is worth arriving with realistic expectations, especially during busy afternoon periods.
First Impressions
The first impression of the lounge was how busy it felt. The lounge was full enough that it was difficult to take clean photos of the seating areas, and the atmosphere felt more hectic than relaxing.
This is not entirely surprising. Lisbon Airport Terminal 1 is often crowded, and the ANA Lounge is the main contract lounge option at the airport. As a result, it attracts a large number of travellers using lounge memberships and paid access.
The lounge itself has one large main seating area, with leather armchairs, dining tables and floor-to-ceiling windows. The windows bring in natural light and offer decent apron views, which helped stop the space from feeling too enclosed.
However, the crowding made it difficult to enjoy the design or views fully. Even with the natural light, the lounge felt busy, noisy and hard to settle into during this visit.
Seating and Comfort
Seating at the ANA Lounge Lisbon Airport is mostly arranged across one large open area. There are leather armchairs, dining tables and general lounge seating, giving passengers a few different ways to sit depending on whether they want to eat, work or relax.
The floor-to-ceiling windows are one of the better parts of the lounge, as they bring in light and provide apron views. This makes the space more pleasant than the main terminal, especially if you can find a seat near the windows.
The problem is that the lounge was extremely busy during this 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM visit. Finding a seat was difficult, and the atmosphere felt more like a crowded waiting area than a calm pre-flight lounge.
If you manage to visit during a quieter period, the lounge may feel much more comfortable. During this visit, though, the seating and atmosphere were held back heavily by the number of passengers inside.
Food at the ANA Lounge Lisbon Airport
Food was served from a self-serve cold buffet. The selection was not terrible, but it was not especially memorable either.
There were mini sandwiches, although these were quite dry during our visit. There were also pastries, including Portuguese pastéis de nata, which were one of the more appealing parts of the buffet.
Cold options included a cheese board, cold meats, salads and fresh fruit. These were useful if you wanted a light snack before your flight, but the spread did not feel particularly exciting.
The biggest drawback was the almost non-existent hot food selection. Other than a soup of the day, there did not appear to be any meaningful hot food available. For a busy international airport lounge, this felt disappointing.
Overall, the food was fine for a light snack, but not a lounge I would rely on for a proper meal before a flight.
Drinks at the ANA Lounge Lisbon Airport
Drinks at the lounge were available from a self-serve bar and fridge area.
The self-serve bar included a couple of red and white wines, bottled beers and sparkling wine. We appreciated seeing Super Bock available, as it gave the drinks selection a local Portuguese touch.
There was also a self-serve fridge with bottled soft drinks, juices and mineral water, including both still and sparkling water.
However, the drinks selection still felt limited overall. We did not see any spirits or Champagne during this visit, which made the bar feel less complete than many other contract lounges.
The drinks were acceptable for a quick pre-flight stop, but they were not a standout feature of the lounge.
Wi-Fi, Charging and Facilities
The Wi-Fi worked during our visit and was easy enough to use for browsing, messaging or checking flight details.
There were enough charging ports dotted around the lounge, which was useful given how busy the space was. If you need to charge a phone or laptop, it is still worth choosing your seat carefully, as not every seat will be equally convenient for power.
Showers are available at the ANA Lounge, although these are subject to extra fees. A business centre is also available, again subject to additional charges.
These facilities are useful in theory, especially for connecting passengers or travellers with a longer wait. However, during this crowded visit, the lounge did not feel like a particularly relaxing place to spend a long amount of time.

The ANA Lounge Lisbon Airport is worth considering if you have Priority Pass or paid lounge access and want somewhere slightly calmer than the main Lisbon Terminal 1 departures area. Lisbon Airport can feel crowded and chaotic, so even a busy lounge may still be preferable to sitting in the terminal.
The best parts of the lounge were the natural light, apron views, working Wi-Fi, charging points, polite staff and the fact that plates were cleared regularly. The availability of Super Bock and pastéis de nata also added a small local touch.
However, this was not a strong lounge experience overall. The lounge was extremely busy, difficult to photograph, hard to find seating in, and the food and drinks were fairly unmemorable. The lack of hot food beyond soup was a major drawback, and the absence of spirits or Champagne made the drinks setup feel limited.
Overall, the ANA Lounge Lisbon Airport is useful rather than impressive. It is better than waiting in the main Lisbon terminal, but it is not a lounge I would go out of my way to book unless I already had access or wanted to escape the busiest parts of Terminal 1.
