Pearl Lounge Sharm El Sheikh Terminal 1 Date of Visit: January 2025 (Last Updated June 2026)
Time: Evening (4:30 PM – 7:00 PM)

The Pearl Lounge Sharm El Sheikh Terminal 1 is a Priority Pass and paid access airport lounge at Sharm El Sheikh International Airport (SSH), located airside after security for international departures. This Pearl Lounge review covers the location, access rules, £29 paid entry option, seating, panoramic runway views, food, drinks, Wi-Fi, facilities and whether it is worth visiting before a flight.

During this evening visit, the lounge had two clear strengths: excellent tarmac views and surprisingly fast Wi-Fi. However, the food was poor, no alcohol was served, the soft drink selection was limited, and the overall experience felt well below what most travellers would expect from a paid airport lounge.

Pearl Lounge Sharm El Sheikh Terminal 1 Location

The Pearl Lounge Sharm El Sheikh Terminal 1 is located airside after the main security area at Sharm El Sheikh International Airport. The lounge is on Floor 2 and can only be accessed by elevator.

The lounge is useful if you want a quieter place to sit before an international departure, especially because the main terminal seating areas can feel busy and uncomfortable.

Pearl Lounge Sharm El Sheikh Terminal 1 Access Rules

The Pearl Lounge can be accessed with Priority Pass, subject to capacity, or through a paid LoungePair booking. At the time of this review, paid entry cost around £29 ($38 USD) per person.

If you are paying for entry, it is worth setting expectations carefully. The lounge is much stronger for views and Wi-Fi than it is for food, drinks or service.

Check-In at the Pearl Lounge Sharm El Sheikh Terminal 1

Upon arrival at 4:30 PM, we were greeted by a receptionist who seemed uninterested by our arrival. Annoyingly, she did not mention that there was a Wi-Fi code, so 10 minutes later I had to come back to ask for the password. The lady seemed annoyed that I dared ask for the password, sighed to me and said “give, give your phone”. The unhelpful check-in experience made for a poor start to the lounge visit.

Lounge Ambiance and Seating

The Pearl Lounge itself is a really good spot, as it is on the top floor, with huge panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows. The space looked quite similar to the Pearl Lounge at Marrakesh airport. You can check this review out here. We had an excellent view of the airport tarmac, and since we were here at sunset, it created a really nice environment to chill before our flight back to London. Moreover, the lounge was practically empty, and the armchair seats were pretty comfy. This quiet atmosphere was certainly a welcome break from the terminal, especially considering Sharm El Sheikh Airport was chaotic, cramped, and had practically no appealing seating areas.

Food and Drinks at the Pearl Lounge Sharm El Sheikh Terminal 1

Food and drinks were the weakest part of the Pearl Lounge experience. The buffet was poorly maintained during this visit and the hot food was disappointing.

Hot options included pasta, shredded beef, rice and chicken, but nothing felt especially fresh or appealing. Cold options were also limited, with a small selection of sandwiches and pizza slices.

There was no alcohol available during this visit. Soft drinks were also limited to basic options such as water, Fanta, Coke and Sprite, with no diet soft drinks available when we asked.

Overall, this is not a lounge to visit for food or drinks. If you are hungry before your flight, it is better to eat elsewhere and use the lounge mainly for the views, Wi-Fi and quieter seating.

Wi-Fi and Amenities

The Wi-Fi was one of the best parts of the Pearl Lounge. Once connected, the speed was fast and reliable, which was especially useful because the main terminal Wi-Fi was not usable during this visit.

However, you need to ask reception for the Wi-Fi password, and this was not explained at check-in. Power outlets were limited and some did not work, so the lounge is not ideal if you need to charge multiple devices before your flight.

The facilities were basic overall. There were no standout amenities, and the toilets felt tired.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Excellent panoramic views of the airport.
  • Fast and reliable Wi-Fi.

Cons

  • Rude staff, with one staff member demanding that I stop taking pictures and videos of the food.
  • Poor food and drink options, with no alcohol or even diet soft drinks on offer.

Is The Pearl Lounge Sharm El Sheikh Terminal 1 Worth Visiting?

The Pearl Lounge Sharm El Sheikh Terminal 1 is only worth visiting if you already have lounge access and mainly want runway views, fast Wi-Fi and a quieter seat away from the main terminal.

The panoramic tarmac views are genuinely strong, especially around sunset, and the Wi-Fi worked much better than the connection in the main terminal. Those were the two clear positives from this visit.

However, the food was poor, no alcohol was served, soft drinks were limited, power sockets were unreliable and the service was disappointing. If you are paying around £25 for entry, then this lounge is hard to recommend.
