Location and opening hours
The Plaza Premium Lounge Gatwick North Terminal is located air side in the Lounge Pavilion on the fourth floor. It occupies the former Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse space, which gives it one of the strongest lounge locations in the London Gatwick North Terminal.
My Lounge Gatwick North Terminal is also located air side in the main lounge area. After security, turn left into the main departures area and follow the signs for all lounges. The lounge sits on the left hand side as you enter the lounge section.
My Lounge is open daily from 5AM until 4PM, which makes it more useful for morning and early afternoon flights. The Plaza Premium Lounge is the better option if you want a longer opening window, as it is open daily from 4AM to 8PM.
Both lounges are easy enough to find, but the Plaza Premium Lounge has the more impressive location once you arrive.
Seating and atmosphere: Plaza Premium Lounge vs My Lounge London Gatwick North
This is where the Plaza Premium Lounge has the biggest advantage.
The Plaza Premium Lounge Gatwick North is one of the largest contract lounges at the airport. Because it sits in the old Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse space, it feels spacious, open, and much more substantial than many pay-to-use lounges. The design is modern and calm, with large windows, plenty of natural light, and a layout that absorbs passenger numbers well.
There are armchairs by the windows, café style tables, and different seating zones for eating, relaxing, and looking out over the airport.

My Lounge Gatwick North has a very different feel. It is more informal, with a coffee shop style layout rather than a traditional lounge design. The space is pretty small and set out in an L shaped format, with armchairs, sofas, café style tables, and dedicated workstations.
The atmosphere is warmer and more casual than the Plaza Premium Lounge, with soft music, relaxed décor, and a less formal feel. It can still get busy, and during our visit there was some noise from young families, but the lounge stayed clean and there was still enough seating available.

For seating and atmosphere, the Plaza Premium Lounge wins because it feels larger, brighter, and more comfortable for a longer stay. My Lounge is still a good choice if you prefer something more casual.
Views: which lounge is better?
The Plaza Premium Lounge Gatwick North has large panoramic windows overlooking the runway and apron. The natural light and aircraft views are two of its biggest strengths, and the lounge is one of the better contract lounge spaces at Gatwick for plane watching.

My Lounge Gatwick North has floor to ceiling windows, but the view is poor as it overlooks a passenger walkway.

For views, the Plaza Premium Lounge is the clear winner.
Food and drinks: Plaza Premium Lounge vs My Lounge London Gatwick North
Food and drink are fairly close, but the lounges have different strengths.
At the Plaza Premium Lounge Gatwick North, breakfast was served in a self serve format. Hot items included bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs, baked beans, and cooked tomatoes. Lighter options included yoghurt, fruit salad, cereals, mini blueberry muffins, and pastries.
The food was well laid out, easy to access, and gave travellers a decent mix of hot and cold breakfast items before a morning flight.
Drinks at the Plaza Premium Lounge included red wine, white wine, Angelo Poretti draught beer from the bar, Gordon’s gin, white rum, whisky, soft drinks, juices, coffee, and alcohol free alternatives. However, Prosecco and cocktails cost extra, which is the main weakness of the drinks setup.

My Lounge Gatwick North also had a strong breakfast selection during our visit. Hot items included bacon, sausage patties, scrambled eggs, and breakfast muffins, which were useful for making your own breakfast sandwich. There were also croissants, pain au chocolat, yoghurts, cereals, granola, fresh fruit, and a self serve pancake maker.
The drinks setup is one of the main reasons to choose My Lounge. The self pour concept includes draft beer, wine dispensers, spirits with bar style measuring systems, soft drinks, juices, and coffee. This makes the lounge feel relaxed and convenient, especially if you do not want to queue at a bar.

Neither lounge included sparkling wine during our visits, although the Plaza Premium Lounge had Prosecco available for an extra charge.
For food, this is close. The Plaza Premium Lounge feels more polished, while My Lounge feels more playful and varied thanks to the pancake machine and breakfast sandwich setup. For drinks, My Lounge has the edge because the self pour concept is easier and more relaxed.
Overall, My Lounge slightly wins the food and drink category.
Wi-Fi, power and amenities
Both lounges cover the basics, but neither is perfect.
The Plaza Premium Lounge Gatwick North had working Wi-Fi, several flight information screens, plenty of toilets, and a children’s area with TVs showing cartoons. This makes it a sensible choice for families and passengers who want a more spacious lounge before their flight.
The main weakness is power access. Power ports were available at some seats, but not all, which could be frustrating if you need to charge multiple devices.
My Lounge Gatwick North also had smooth Wi-Fi, with the password displayed at every seat. There were three unisex toilets, which were clean during our visit, although there can be a short queue at busier times. The games corner with table football adds a fun touch and suits the more casual feel of the lounge.
The main drawback at My Lounge is also power access. There were limited sockets around the seating areas, which makes it less useful if you need to work for a long period before boarding.
Neither lounge has showers.
For amenities, the Plaza Premium Lounge wins because it has more toilets, more space, and a children’s area. My Lounge has the more relaxed extras, but the Plaza Premium Lounge is more practical overall.
Which lounge is better for families?
The Plaza Premium Lounge is better for families.
The children’s area with TVs is a useful feature, and the larger layout gives families more room to spread out. The lounge also has more toilets and a calmer overall setting, which can make the pre-flight experience easier.
My Lounge has a games corner with table football, which is a nice feature for older children or families wanting a more casual atmosphere. However, because the lounge is smaller, it may feel less comfortable during busier periods.
