The Pearl Lounge Marrakesh Review (Evening Visit)
The Pearl Lounge Marrakesh Airport Date of Visit: [January 2025]
Time: Evening (6:00 PM – 8:00 PM)
Location and Access Options at The Pearl Lounge Marrakesh Airport
The Pearl Lounge at Marrakesh Menara Airport (RAK) serves as the main lounge for departing travellers. In this review, I share everything you need to know about access, food, drinks, and amenities based on my evening visit.
The lounge sits after security and opens daily from 6 AM to 10 PM. I suggest arriving at least three hours before your flight to allow enough time. Marrakesh Menara Airport has a very disorganised and overcrowded security process. Long queues begin just to enter the terminal. Digital boarding passes are not accepted. Even passengers with only hand luggage must queue at check-in to print paper boarding passes. Security involves multiple checks and passport control, which adds to the chaos.
You can access the lounge with Priority Pass or DragonPass. However, if you do not have membership, entry costs 35 US dollars. Considering the overall experience, the price feels a little bit on the steep side.
Check-In Experience
Check-in was smooth. A polite receptionist greeted me and quickly assisted. After confirming my pass, she operated metro-style barriers to let me into the lounge.
Pearl Lounge Marrakesh Review: What to Expect Inside
The lounge decor mixes modern design with Moroccan charm. I appreciated the palm trees, which gave the area a tropical feel. It was a nice contrast before returning to London’s grey skies.
There was plenty of seating, including armchairs, communal tables, and semi-private booths with televisions. The televisions did not work, but the booths still offered a good level of privacy. The layout and atmosphere reminded me of the Pearl Lounge at Sharm El Sheikh Airport. You can find that review here.
Large windows should have showcased a lovely view of the runway and sunset. However, wooden patterned blinds covered most of the glass. As a result, I had to look through narrow gaps to see anything outside. An indoor smoking room was also available, but nobody used it during my two-hour stay.

Food & Drink at The Pearl Lounge Marrakesh Airport
The food selection disappointed me, especially during an evening visit when I expected more substantial options.
- Hot items in large covered containers included overcooked cold chicken in a creamy sauce and cold Mediterranean vegetables that looked like they had been left out for days.
- Cold items: A sparse selection of stale sandwiches and unappetizing salads. As these sandwiches were behind the counter, you would have to queue for a man to serve these to you. He was frequently not behind the counter, so there were occasions where the queue would stack up with irritated travellers.
- Drinks: Again to access any drinks, you would have to queue to be served by the illusive man behind the counter, even for water! Coca Cola, Sprite and Coke Zero were offered. The machine coffee was bang average, and please note that this lounge does NOT SERVE alcohol. The pre-takeoff tipple test unfortunately had to be a latte, which I don’t think you can quite call a tipple!

Wi-Fi & Amenities at The Pearl Lounge Marrakesh Airport
The WiFi worked well and quickly, which was a big bonus because the airport’s public WiFi was unusable. Power outlets were scattered throughout the lounge, but most did not work. I had to test five outlets before finding one that functioned which was a little frustrating. When I asked staff about the issue, they admitted none of the outlets worked.
The toilets were in poor condition with paper towels overflowing from the bin and covering the floor. It was clear nobody had cleaned the area in hours. Strangely, a cat sat in the lounge during my visit. I do not think it was a therapy animal, but it was cute enough to deserve a photo.

Pros:
- The seating was comfy and the WiFi was excellent, so if you need reliable connectivity to get some work done, then the lounge might be worth a visit.
Cons:
- Subpar food options and no alcohol available!
- Hindered view of the tarmac, which covered the gorgeous Moroccan sunset on my evening visit.
- Dirty restrooms and unreliable charging ports.
Final Thoughts
The Pearl Lounge Marrakesh Airport offers little value for money, with disappointing food, no alcohol, and limited functionality. Therefore, if you don’t have unlimited lounge passes, I would not waste a visit here. At $35 for entry, it’s difficult to justify a visit when you could just purchase similar or better food in the main terminal. This lounge experience reminded me of the Pearl Lounge at Sharm El Sheikh airport, which you can check out here.
