Plaza Premium Lounge Gatwick North Terminal Date of Visit: December 2025 (Last updated February 2026)
Time: Morning (8AM to 10AM)

Plaza Premium Lounge Gatwick North Terminal is one of the biggest lounges at LGW and it sits in the former Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse space, so it feels more premium than most contract lounges. In this morning visit review, I cover where it is, what breakfast and drinks are included, the paid bar menu, seating and runway views, Wi-Fi and power sockets, and whether it is worth paying £45 or using a lounge visit.

Location and Access at Plaza Premium Lounge Gatwick North Terminal

The Plaza Premium Lounge at London Gatwick North Terminal is located on the fourth floor of the Lounge Pavilion, occupying the space that was once the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse. When Virgin moved all operations to Heathrow during the pandemic, Plaza Premium took over the lounge in 2021, which is one of the best spots in the terminal.

You can enter the Plaza Premium Lounge by purchasing a Priority Pass lounge membership here (up to 30% off through this link), or by purchasing a pass beforehand at LoungePass.com for £45 per person. After clicking, search for the airport to check availability and book your lounge spot.

Seating and Runway Views

The first thing to say is that the Plaza Premium Lounge at London Gatwick North Terminal itself is an incredibly good spot and absolutely massive. The décor is modern, minimalistic, and sleek, with a light and open design. The large panoramic windows provide spectacular tarmac views, making this a plane spotting paradise. Natural light floods the entire lounge, giving it an airy and relaxing atmosphere.

There are plenty of comfortable armchairs lining the windows as well as café style seating throughout. Despite being busy during my visit, the space is so large that it absorbed the crowds easily, maintaining an overall calm environment.

Food and Drinks

Breakfast was being served during my visit and the spread was very good, all laid out in a self serve format. Hot food included bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs, baked beans, and cooked tomatoes. There were no hash browns, but that is just me being picky. Lighter items included yoghurt, fruit salad, cereals, mini blueberry muffins, and pastries. Overall, it was a solid selection and well presented.

There was a list of non-premium drinks available for self serve which included one red wine, one white wine, Poretti draught beer (which could be ordered at the bar), Gordon’s gin, Calados white rum, and Grouse whisky. There was also Gordon’s non alcoholic gin, Lyres 0% Dark Rum, and Heineken 0. Soft drinks were available from a fountain machine with Coke, Coke Zero, Sprite, and Fanta, along with two self-serve coffee machines. Orange juice and apple juice were also provided.

There was a large bar area offering premium drinks for an additional cost. A glass of Prosecco was priced at £5.50, while a full bottle was £28. There was also a cocktail menu with cocktails priced at £8 each.

Wi-Fi, Toilets and Facilities

The lounge features a children’s area with two TVs playing cartoons, which is a thoughtful addition for families. Wi Fi worked well throughout, and there were several departure boards around the lounge displaying flight information.

Power ports were available at some seats, though not all, which slightly let the lounge down for those wishing to charge multiple devices. There were no showers, but there were plenty of toilets available, and they were adequately clean during my visit. Staff were polite, attentive, and did a good job of clearing plates and maintaining the space.

Final Verdict: Is The Plaza Premium Lounge Gatwick North Terminal Worth It?

The Plaza Premium Lounge at Gatwick North Terminal is an excellent contract lounge that delivers a premium experience by benefiting from Virgin’s old Clubhouse lounge space. The setting is impressive, the views are outstanding, and the space is comfortable and well designed. Food and drinks are solid, and while the lack of extensive power outlets and sparkling wine are small downsides, the overall experience remains highly enjoyable. I would say this lounge is the best choice for the contract lounges at Gatwick’s North terminal. You can read these Gatwick lounge reviews here.
