During this evening visit, the lounge had excellent runway views and a better than expected food and drinks selection, with hot dishes, a staffed bar and Birra Moretti on tap. However, the lounge felt cramped and busy, charging points were limited, and there were no toilets inside the lounge.

Check-In Experience
The lounge is small and in high demand, so there was a short wait before being shown in. Check-in was otherwise straightforward. Staff at the front desk were polite, and another staff member guided us to our seats after we had checked in.
Ambiance and Seating
This is where the Club Aspire Lounge struggles. While the furnishings themselves are comfortable, including a mix of sofas and plush armchairs, the space is extremely cramped. Seating is positioned very close together, and with passengers’ bags placed around the floor, it often felt like you had to climb over obstacles just to get out of your seat.
At peak times, the lounge feels hectic and crowded, with little of the calm atmosphere you might expect from a premium lounge.
What I was impressed by was the abundance of natural light and excellent runway views.
Food and Drinks at the Club Aspire Lounge
The food and drink selection was far better than expected for a lounge of this size.
Hot options:
- For breakfast, the spread typically includes bacon, sausages, baked beans, hash browns, and cooked tomatoes.
- For dinner, we had the choice between a curry and a pasta dish. It was not gourmet dining by any means, but hearty enough to fill you up before a flight.
Cold options:
- Salads
- Sandwiches
- Fresh fruit
- Cheese and crackers
- A lemon drizzle cake which was delicious and chocolate muffins which were quite dry
Drinks:
- Birra Moretti lager on tap and several wines available.
- A staffed bar offered a wide selection of spirits and even Baileys which I was very impressed by! Champagne and Prosecco were an extra charge.
- Soft drinks, juices, tea, and coffee were all available in a self-serve format.
Overall, the food and drink offering were one of the strongest aspects of the lounge. Everything was replenished regularly, and the options were decent for a contract lounge.

Wi-Fi and Amenities At Club Aspire Lounge Heathrow Terminal 5
The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, although there was a distinct lack of charging ports (thankfully I had brought my portable charger). Unfortunately there were no toilets in the lounge which is always irritating when you have to exit the lounge and re-enter.
There were no other standout amenities at this lounge, as the space was so small.

Club Aspire Lounge vs Plaza Premium Lounge Heathrow Terminal 5
If you are choosing between Club Aspire Lounge and Plaza Premium Lounge at Heathrow Terminal 5, Club Aspire was the better overall lounge based on our visits. Plaza Premium had stronger runway views, but Club Aspire offered better food, a stronger drinks setup and a more useful all-round lounge experience.
Neither lounge is perfect, and both can feel cramped during busy periods. However, Club Aspire is the better choice if food, drinks and overall value matter more than the view.

The Club Aspire Lounge Heathrow Terminal 5 is worth visiting if you want hot food, a staffed bar, runway views and a practical place to sit before your flight. The food and drinks were better than expected during this visit, with hot dishes, Birra Moretti on tap, wines, spirits and soft drinks available.
However, the lounge is small and can feel cramped at peak times. Seating is packed closely together, charging points are limited and there are no toilets inside the lounge, which makes the experience less convenient.
Overall, Club Aspire is a decent Heathrow Terminal 5 lounge if you can get in, especially if you value food and drinks. It is less appealing if you mainly want a calm, spacious lounge.
